What is TrueBeam STx?
TrueBeam STx, developed by Varian, is an “intelligent beam” platform for cancer treatment that works a little like a GPS — guiding radiation precisely to cancer cells while sparing surrounding tissue. It combines advanced imaging, precise beam delivery and dynamic motion management in one system, for accurate, efficient treatment even of complex or moving tumours.

What it treats
TrueBeam STx treats tumours almost anywhere in the body, including the brain, lung, breast, prostate, liver, pancreas and spine, and supports advanced techniques such as IMRT, SBRT and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
What to expect
After detailed CT/MRI-based planning, you simply lie on the table while the system rotates around you and delivers the planned beams, checking the tumour's position in real time. It is completely painless and needs no anaesthetic — a standard session can take under five minutes, and even radiosurgery is usually finished in 5–20 minutes.
Good to know
Thanks to its precision, side effects are limited to the treated area and are usually mild — such as temporary skin redness or fatigue — settling after treatment. A radiation oncologist decides whether it is right for you after a full assessment, and follow-up appointments track your progress.
