Overview

One coordinated team, one plan for your care

Our general surgery department brings together specialist surgeons working across colorectal, breast, endocrine (thyroid and adrenal) and upper-gastrointestinal surgery, supported by anesthesiology, radiology, pathology and oncology. Complex cancer cases are reviewed in a multidisciplinary tumor board so that surgery is planned alongside any medical or radiation treatment, and laparoscopic approaches are used wherever they offer faster recovery and smaller incisions.

International patients are supported from first contact by a dedicated coordinator who arranges a remote review of your imaging, biopsy and laboratory reports by the operating surgeon. Based on that review you receive a clear treatment plan and a transparent, personalized cost estimate before you travel, along with guidance on length of stay, recovery and follow-up after you return home.

General Surgery — frequently asked questions

Yes. You can send your imaging, biopsy and blood-test results to your coordinator, and the operating surgeon will review them remotely and outline a treatment plan with a personalized cost estimate before you book travel.

Many general-surgery procedures, including gallbladder removal and most hernia and colorectal operations, can be done laparoscopically. Your surgeon will recommend the safest approach for your specific condition during your consultation.

Length of stay depends on the procedure, but minimally invasive operations often involve only a short hospital stay. Your coordinator provides an expected timeline for hospitalization, recovery in İstanbul and safe travel home.
