The remaining embryos after transferring can be frozen and stored for later use if they are appropriate in terms of number and quality. The next cycle will be easier, cheaper and less invasive because the patient has not undergone an ovarian stimulation and egg collection.
Once the embryos have been frozen, they can be stored up to 5 years. However, not all the embryos may survive after freezing and thawing process. The rate of live birth also decreases after transferring frozen embryos.
