PETCT and SPECT (Sintigraphy) devices are used in diagnosis of oncological patients, monitoring the treatment and process of tumor staging in Comprehensive Cancer Center Nuclear Medicine Unit of Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital.

We propose the most exclusive and suitable treatment options to the patients owing to experienced specialists and comparative imaging transfer system with the Radiology unit. NaF PET (Bone PET), applied with sodium fluoride F18 injection, allowing to detect bone metastases accurately, is performed successfully at our Unit. Furthermore, we have an Iodine Room at our Unit, which is licensed by the Ministry of Health and found in a limited number of centers, enabling radioactive iodine application for Thyroid cancers.

PET/CT

PET/CT devices serving at Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital are accepted as the cutting-edge imaging systems around the world. PET/CT is a new imaging method in which both Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography have a function together.

PET/CT primarily is used successfully in early diagnosis of lung cancer which is gradually increasing around the world. PET/CT can make sensitive determination even for tumors 7 mm in size in the earliest stage of cancerous tissue. Thus tumor cells can be determined in a very early stage before it spreads outside of the lung.

PET/CT gives successful results also in skin cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer.

Na-F PET-CT

Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital, Nuclear Medicine Unit has Na-F PET- CT (Bone PET) available which is the most sensitive diagnostic method in detecting the bone metastases in Oncology patients.

Na-F PET- CT detects the bone metastases in an earlier stage as compared to other diagnostic methods, and has been regarded as the most significant method in recent years for the detection of prostate cancer metastases. Bone metastases are evaluated three dimensionally by this method.

Brain PET-CT

In scientific studies, it has been shown that memory-related problems without clinical findings or with very few clinical findings could be diagnosed by Brain PET/CT.

This technology has been launched to be used by clinicians and patients within a clinical programme which has been prepared in collaboration with Neurology Department of Bilim University. At this unit, clinical evaluations and imaging technologies are used together. Alzheimer's Disease as well as other brain diseases that cause memory-related problems are assesed together with the lecturers of Bilim University, Neurology Department.
