Contraception needs of adolescents are different from adults. Since the risk for sexually transmitted diseases is high and the number of partners is more in adolescents, intrauterine devices (spiral) have been always approached with suspicion and not preferred . However, recent studies and the World Health Organization promote the use of intrauterine devices. None of methods of contraception mentioned above has a permanent effect on the potential of getting pregnant.
