Infertility is failure of a couple to conceive a pregnancy after trying to do so for one full year, having a sexual intercourse at least twice a week, and despite no birth control method being used.
The chance of pregnancy is directly related to increased time of intercourse, frequency of intercourse, and age of the couple. Of the couples that do not use a birth control method, a pregnancy will be achieved in around 20-25% within the first month, in 60% within 6 months, and 80-85% within 1 year. The remaining 15-20% has an infertility problem.
