The Group Florence Nightingale was established in 1989 under the auspices of the Turkish cardiology Foundation, one of the most highly respected Civil Society Organizations in Turkey.

The Foundation was established in 1975, based on a core cadre of Turkey’s most prominent doctors, experts and health personnel.

Since that time, the Foundation has striven continuously to reinvigorate itself both in terms of its activities and organizationally.

Funded by donors and with the help of its many supporters in Turkey, the Foundation has established a two-block pioneering facility bringing space-age technology to the field of cardiac treatment and research. The Foundation works tirelessly to address cardiac health issues, as heart and arterial disease remain the leading cause of death in Turkey; the Foundation’s Neurocardiology Center is the third of its kind in the world, after the US and Italy.

The Foundation organizes symposia and meetings in the field, setting up the world’s first International Neurocardiology Symposium in Istanbul. The Turkish Neurocardiology Association was established under the auspices of the Turkish Cardiology Foundation; the two bodies organized together the International Parkinson Symposium.

The Foundation remains one of the most prominent and respected Civil Society Organizations in Turkey, running continuous awareness-building, information and motivational campaigns designed to reduce mortality rates from cardiac disease.

The Foundation’s laboratories and facilities use the latest technology to provide state of the art diagnostic capacity, while its Healthy Eating, Diet and Weight Center remain the most advanced such facility in Turkey.
